It’s Been A Year…

…and what a year it’s been!

A lot has changed since our last post in April 2022.

Atop Mount Hoven, Norway.

Firstly, our Instagram account was hacked, then subsequently deleted without our consent. This was a huge blow for us as a lot of our web traffic was generated here. Thousands of our loyal and organic followers stopped receiving our content overnight and there was no way of getting it back.

Secondly, we made the bold decision to move across the country, from Joe’s home county of Wiltshire, to my birth place on the North Norfolk coast. Not only did this involve a logistical challenge due to the distance, but also the lack of housing at the other end! We had to move in with a relative for a while, and the weeks soon turned to months before the house was ready for us. 3 adults, 2 dogs and a toddler is a tight squeeze when you’re crammed in to a one-bed bungalow and living out of a suitcase!

Along with the move came new careers. Joe has taken the opportunity to learn the trade of plumbing, meaning a 6-year commitment for him (not a decision to be taken lightly). I have had to return to work full-time in a ‘normal’ job and put Teddy in to a nursery school 3 days a week.

Then there is the cost of living crisis. Bills keep getting higher, money is getting tighter and we’re not getting any younger! We’ve lost loved ones, gained new friendships and rekindled old ones. It feels like somehow we’ve blinked and missed a year!

Despite all of this, some things remain unchanged:

We love to travel.

We love to explore.

We love our planet.

We love making memories.

And most importantly, we love each other.

So, now that you’re all caught up, you can look forward to more content in the coming months, featuring Norway, the Lake District & more!

Keep moving forward!

Amy, Joe & Teddy,
The ‘Our Whimsical World’ family.
